The unique heated book and paper press BBP A3 is designed to flatten stacks of paper up to A3 or single books into a similar format. Two pressing plates are placed in the support frame. The height of the upper pressing plates is set by a shaft drive with a hand wheel. The maximum distance between two pressing plates is 230 mm. The lower compression plate rests on the base, which is connected to the frame structure using pneumatic bellows. The plate guide pins are anti-rotation and do not use bellows, and are directly mounted on four supports. When the lifting function is activated, the press plate is raised up to 40 mm and pressed against the top plate. Both press plates are heated by separately controlled electric heating plates to a temperature of approximately 50 °C.
