Special liquid for reducing the acidity of newspapers
From the middle of the 19th century, newspapers were printed on cheap ground wood paper. Such paper was well suited for mass production. It is light, easy to fold, absorbs well, and is suitable for printing.
Disadvantage: short-lived, due to the large proportion of short-fiber wood, it is very unstable and quickly becomes an acidic medium, which accelerates the decay process. Due to improper storage and frequent use, newspapers can only decompose after 50 years. As a result, valuable documents of modern history are irretrievably lost.
